Week 11: class highlights

1. My impression of the internet was a technology that originated in the latter year in the 1980's. I just realized that it began in the 1960's.

2. Movie ratings were established by the industries to avoid government censorship.

3. A final controversy of television involves the fact that people simply watch too much television.

  1. In response to your #3 Aha moment comment, I started thinking about how maybe different generations might be in different phases of media "overdo". For example, many people started in their younger days watching 8+ hours of tv but now only watch once a week for an hour. Their average throughout their life may still be high but the reality of now is that they watch very little.
